2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE: A pioneer.

For a little over 20 years, the Mercedes-Benz GLE has set the standard for the midsize luxury sport utility vehicle segment. Through powertrains, technology, and design innovations, the GLE has always catered to the needs of its owners. For 2018, Mercedes-Benz continues to offer a wide variety of possibilities to build the GLE of your dreams.

Plug-in hybrid power or all-out power, and everything in between.

Regardless of the selected trim, the Mercedes-Benz GLE continues with unsurpassed levels of comfort and safety. There are five versions of the GLE to select from, all of which have something unique to offer. The difficult part is choosing the right one for you.

Mercedes-Benz is serious about developing sustainable transportation, but never at the expense of luxury. The GLE 550e combines a biturbo 3.0L V6 and an 85kW plug-in hybrid electric motor for real-world “green” driving. Its 8.8 kWh battery will propel the 550e for a distance of up to 30 kilometres without using a single drop of fuel. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz 550e retails for $83,900.

The first wrung on the GLE ladder is the 400. For $66,100, standard equipment includes a 329-horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque biturbo 3.0L V6, a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC AWD. There are numerous options available to customize the GLE 400 in your own image.

The GLE 550 features a powerful and refined 449-horsepower turbocharged V8 engine. Mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC AWD, the 550 reaches 100 km/h in just over 5 seconds. The performance is exhilarating, as is the 550’s stately charm. The starting price is set at $82,000.

The ideal combination of performance and luxury could be the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4MATIC for $73,900. Its biturbo 3.0L V6 generates 385-horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.6 seconds. AMG vehicles also include specific design elements that are unmistakable both inside and out.

The king of the hill is the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC. This vehicle is one of the most powerful utility vehicles in the world thanks to its 577-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8. For $115,500, few other cars or trucks provide as much performance, luxury, and capability in one.
